Teacher Training

with Peggy Kelley

Learn to teach the basics of proper alignment and how to use props in the Iyengar Method of Hatha Yoga. World renowned for its precision, the Iyengar Method conveys the heart, soul, and essence of yoga through the medium of the yoga asanas. B.K.S. Iyengar, Yoga Master, has been honored by universities and governments for his healing genius. Now over 80 years old, he still teaches and practices yoga at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Poona, India.

Peggy Kelley and staff offer a series of 16 weekend intensives over two years, with each weekend focused on different aspects of teacher training. Successful completion of all 16 weekends (including homework) meets the Yoga Alliance 200 hour Registration Requirement, with 150 hours extra toward the 500 Hour Registration Requirement. Graduates intending to undertake assessment for National Iyengar Certification will find the program good preparation for that three part exam. Graduates who complete all 16 weekends and all homework satisfactorily, as well as any other requirements of the National Iyengar Association, will be eligible for a recommendation from Peggy Kelley to enter the assessment process (for more information on assessment, see http://www.iynaus.org)
